Our role is to help ensure Veteran disability determination processes are supported by accurate, timely, and objective clinical assessments. We are expanding our national provider network and are seeking experienced Clinical Psychologists to conduct structured behavioral health disability examinations in support of Veterans. This is a flexible 1099 independent contractor opportunity offering per-exam compensation, with the ability to work remotely or in person, without ongoing treatment obligations.
Position Overview:
Federal Guardian is seeking state-licensed Clinical Psychologists (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) from APA-accredited programs to perform behavioral health disability examinations. This role focuses exclusively on objective psychological evaluation and documentation related to disability determinations. Exams may be conducted remotely via secure telehealth platforms or in person, depending on assignment and provider preference.
As a Behavioral Health Disability Examiner with Federal Guardian, you will conduct structured psychological disability evaluations using standardized templates and established protocols. You will review claimant medical and behavioral health records, collect relevant psychiatric and psychosocial history, perform clinical interviews and focused mental status examinations, and objectively document findings. You will complete required reports accurately and within established turnaround times, providing clear, evidence-based medical opinions related to functional limitations and disability determination requirements. This role does not involve psychotherapy, medication management, or ongoing treatment.

Contractor Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (Psy.D or Ph.D.) from an APA-accredited program.
- Current, active, and unrestricted state license as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting timelines.
- Ability to work remotely or in person based on assignment needs.
- Experience with disability exams, forensic evaluations, or structured assessments is beneficial but not required.
